Lovely hotel with great food, warm staff and ideal locationThis was the first time I’ve been on a ski holiday and stayed in a hotel so wasn’t sure what it would be like. Was pleasantly surprised on arrival having read some of the review on Tripadvisor. The hotel is ideally located next to the cable car up to the main ski area at Plain Maison and could also be reached via the Red 7 and 3 runs. The hotel is up hill from the main town but it’s barely a 10minute walk. With a fairly big boot room in the basement with enough boot heater racks for everyone and space for skis and boards, it was ideal for first thing and end of the day. The hotel interior has been done up in the last year or so. The rooms were more spacious than expected and we also benefitted from being on the 3rd floor which had a higher ceiling so the room felt even bigger. With plenty hanging space and shelves it meant we could get our ski gear dried every night. The rooms were cleaned each morning and there was a full changeover of linen midweek. The bar area is decent, could probably do with a bit more seating. There is a small gym area next to the bar but there isn’t much kit in there so barely used by the looks of things. The food was excellent - wide range of breakfast options including made to order omelettes and porridge as well as other hot food and continental items. Dinner was great - huge range of antipasto/salads every night to start and either a hot buffet with stews, pastas, soups and risottos or a fixed menu that we had to choose from in advance. I read a review where someone was complaining about the meat - think they must have had a bad day, as we were so impressed by what was on offer - a venison stew was one of the tastiest things we’d had in ages!! Final word is how great the staff were - kind, friendly, helpful, generous... faultless service. We all agreed we would definitely go back
Excellent hotelSix of us stayed here in February 2020. The hotel was conveniently located right by the gondola station, but quite a steep walk coming back from the town centre. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The rooms were very well equipped with lots of hanging space and a radiator for drying wet gloves. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The bar area was large but if there was one thing it lacked was more comfortable settee seating. There is a convenient ski hire shop located in the hotel. The boot room has heated boot racks. I am saving the best for last, the food was AMAZING. The choice in the buffet was exceptional both in the morning and evening. The chef and his team turned out food that was inventive and so tasty, the best food that we have had in over 15 years of skiing. The Crystal reps were very helpful, cheerful and genuinely nice girls, they couldn’t do enough for you. Cervinia has good wide slopes but bear in mind it is quiet high and can be very windy, the whole lift system was closed for one day due to high winds when we were there. On the flip side on a calm sunny day you will be spoilt for choice with runs and can even cross over to Switzerland. I would definitely recommend the hotel and resort.
Friendly staff, great location, good foodWe had a great holiday in B-C. We stayed in room 307 which was small but perfect for the two of us. The bathroom was modern and had a great shower with hot water and plenty of water pressure. We had a mountain view room which was worth the upgrade price. The beds were soft and comfortable and the radiators could be turned up and down easily. Overall a great room for a 1 week ski holiday. The bar are was fine with plenty of comfortable seating. They served coffee and cakes at 4:00 pm each day which was a nice touch. The bar staff were friendly and always happy to share a joke or two. The restaurant was great. Breakfast was a combination of continental and there was also a cooked selection of bacon, eggs etc. There was also a chef who would make you an omelette and served porridge. Dinner was a typical 4 course Italian with a wide range of salad / vegetable / cheeses and ham for starter and two or three primi e.g. anti pasta and a selection of 3 secondi. There was also a choice of deserts each evening. We had a buffet 4 nights and an a la carte (selected) at breakfast the other 3. The food was tasty and choice was perfect for our party which included a vegetarian who had plenty of options each day. Overall we were very impressed by the food quality for a 3* hotel. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay, we really appreciate how hard you all worked to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
